Hey there! I’m Jeremy. I have the blessed opportunity to oversee NSCC as pastor. My wife, Meghan, and I got married in Salisbury, MD on May 31, 2003 just a couple of weeks after we graduated from Eastern Nazarene College. I got a degree in mathematics and Meghan in social work. We soon moved to Kansas City, KS so I could attend Nazarene Theological Seminary. I graduated from NTS with an M. Div. in 2006. On March 28, 2005, our son Brayden Wesley was born. He is most certainly the joy of our lives, demonstrating to us both the beauty and grace of God. On February 1, 2007, our twin girls Brenna Gwen and Brooklyn Munro were born. They are beautiful and...life is busy, tiring, and wonderful all at once. We moved to Hingham in February of 2006. We love the town and love living here. The historic and stateliness of the Hingham is to be admired. We do, however, feel challenged by living in such a wealthy area. The message of Christ is one that calls us to humility and empathy with those less fortunate. We confess that living here as followers of Christ in a wealthy town in the wealthiest nation in the world is challenging. Here’s some of who I am: I like to have conversations about God, Christ, and the Spirit. I like finding out about authentic community and trying to find and live out fresh and genuine truth rather than the plastic illusion of most of what goes on these days in our culture. I like talking to people about this stuff. As for enjoying the times of life, I like playing with my kids, playing games (with Meg or online), reading about the above topics and more, listening to music, napping, napping while listening to music, driving, basketball, on-line stuff, and going up to Vermont. (You can find me on Facebook—Jeremy D. Scott.) I love watching and following sports, in this order - Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, Syracuse Orange, Tiger Woods. I love music, especially music that challenges me. Lately that’s been Derek Webb, Shane & Shane, U2, and Jars of Clay. I’ve been reading more and more. In the scriptures, I am particularly challenged by the letter to the Philippians, the gospel of John, and the first letter of John. Other books that have I’ve appreciated recently or in the past include Everything Must Change, The Lost Letters of Pergamum, the A New Kind of Christian trilogy, The Chronicles of Narnia, Velvet Elvis, and Life Together. I like fiction too like Harry Potter and The Princess Bride. Some less-than-crucial, but very important information: I like Dunkin' Donuts coffee, Diet Coke, Cool Ranch Doritos, Breyer's Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, Cheez-Its (regular or cheddar jack), Pepperidge Farms Mint Milanos, the brown round crouton things in original Gardettos (did you know you can buy them all by themselves now?!), grilled cheese with bacon. Restaurants? Buffulo Wild Wings (there are none in New England though), Bertucci's, Uno's, Red Robin, Outback, Fire & Ice, Great Chow (favorite Chinese), La Caretta's (favorite Mexican), and a new local favorite - Crow Point Pizza. Also, most anything Meghan makes (especially her macaroni and cheese, croissant chicken, chicken cordon bleu, chocolate chip cookies, chicken something different, and much more). Please feel free to contact me. My prayer for the North Street community and everyone is that our days are found together in Christ. For & Through Christ, |
